Munich

I have arrived in Munich!

I am so relieved to be walking around and though I know I'll probably feel tired later - I am wide awake! I'd like to think because this is exciting, and so I feel recharged!

I didn't sleep on the plane, only when watching Grand Budapest Hotel did I manage to nod off, because it was one of the movies I had already seen on our available list of movies.

Anyway, back to Munich, Munich is beautiful. I took pictures as I was landing and I definitely want to visit Munich at some point.

Also, I have to say this airport is pretty nice. The Hugo Boss store and fancy restaurants were among the first things greeting me when I left my gate and searched for where my plane to Graz would be. I ended up walking further than I needed to, but that was okay, I had plenty of time.

I decided to change some money so I could get a tea and a fancy looking cafe, so I popped in line and waited. The exchange rate was pretty bad, but I feel good having a few euros should I need them anytime between here and Graz.

Sipping my tea I headed to the connecting terminal, and made my way over to my gate. I had about 45 minutes to kill, but that was all okay considering I had found an old friend from Opera Camp in the airport. I am excited that she'll be going to AIMS as well, and we have made a pact to keep each other awake until 10:00 PM, which is quite a long time from now as I am writing this, at 11:50 AM on my plane to Graz.

We sat for a while and chatted about the commercials on tv and how we could barely understand them (except for one) and how we looked forward to our survival German classes.

I feel a bit awkward trying to speak German with the natives here, I think I look very American, anyway, because everybody keeps speaking to me in English anyway. Oh well, I hope I'll get to practice more in Graz.

As I am writing this I feel my eyes drooping and I really want a nap...it's quite the fight to stay awake, that's for sure. My flight is only 35 minutes and we just took off, so I don't think I have much opportunity to nap anyway. Oh well. At least I have this hazelnut candy bar given to me by a flight attendant as I boarded the plane. Maybe that'll keep we awake.
